Good evening, gents. I’m just back from the Okanagan, and thought my first task should be to post the results from the Seniors Championship from last weekend. Here you go! Since I wasn’t around, I don’t have much in the way of notables… but look for yourself. A few guys hit great shots to get to the podium. Congrats guys!
PS. Young Guns results are posted at the very end. Players not in the Seniors who paid into the Honey Pot were entered in the prize pool for extra prizes. Thank you to David Ng for donating the prizes for the extra tournament within a tournament!
TROPHY WINNERS:
Ron Wootton (160) — Ernie Brown Trophy: Seniors Champion (age 55-64)
Jim Barkwell (163) — Max Bambury Trophy (age 65-69)
Anthony (Tony) Le Page (159) — Calderhead Heritage Trophy (age 70+)
Okay, maybe just one notable: that Tony Le Page shot the lowest score from ALL competitors - and he is in the oldest age category. Way to go, Tony!! Rumour has it that he shot less than his age on one of the days! Tony has been crowned McCleery Golf Club’s senior champion for 2020 and will be representing our club at the end-of-year tournament of Champions for clubs in BC!
Okay… one more. Kah-Hua Yeo finished 1st Net in the Silver flight, after experiencing a serious car accident only a couple weeks ago. You rock, Kah-Hua. Hope you’re feeling okay.
You got me… last one: Bruce Righton shot the lowest net score of any competitor (137). That’s a formidable task under the new handicap system!
