Wayne Smiley Trophy - final results

Good fun, had by all this past tournament - if you consider playing golf in a significant wind “fun”…

Congratulations to all tournament winners!

NOTE: When determining finalists, we make sure that winners have a chance to collect best prizes.

Example: Walt shot a Gross 79 on Monday, but because his Net score won the $25 prize, he was eliminated from the Gross prize pool. Next lowest gross score: 85, Graeme Conlon. Same thing for Joe Geipel in the Silver flight, who shot Gross score of 82.

Unicorn Alert! For all 3 days of the tournament, NO player shot a Deuce. First time since the honey-pot was created. SO, last week’s deuce-pot will be added to the deuce pot for next weekend!

PS. Silver and Bronze flights were given 2 extra net prizes, because of the sheer number of players in those flights compared to the Gold flight.

Molson's Cup - Stage 1 - 2 Man Scramble - RESULTS

Good evening, gents. The results are in, and it was a close race to the finish!

As you can see, shooting even par on this course is no easy feat. Congrats to Milkowski/McGrath and Chu/Geipel from the GOLD flight, for dominating the course, and showing it who’s boss.

Ng/White and Mallen/Guenette from the SILVER flight were close to breaking par, but couldn’t quite get there.

The stage is set for the Molson’s Cup Trophy: if you keep the same team for Stage II and Stage III, you could get your names engraved on the trophy! Stay tuned for dates/formats for the next rounds!

Honorable mention goes to the teams of Stewart/Thom and Nishimura/Thorburn, who each recorded 2 deuces on the par-3s. Unfortunately for Nishimura/Thorburn - they did not contribute to the honey-pot, so could not enjoy the spoils of their labour. Maybe next time, gents?

Kelbert Qualifier - RESULTS!

Sunday, May 17 - hole #16 - Kah-Hua Yeo HOLE IN ONE!

Before I say anything else, CONGRATS to Kah-Hua Yeo, who shot a HOLE-IN-ONE on Sunday, on hole #16!!

I believe the ‘buy a drink for the group’ will be post-poned until we can find a patio that’s open, right Kah-Hua?

I’d also like to congratulate all the players who survived the wet weather on the weekend to post some decent scores. Well done, boys.

After some controversy, the final results are finally in. Thank you to our Match Committee for helping me make some decisions regarding rules.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Read the rules for the tournament before teeing off, every time. Due to weather conditions, rules may change from day to day. When in doubt, follow RCGA Rules of Golf, and you won’t be wrong. Local Rules usually gives you an exception to those rules - for your advantage. But, if you use the rule-book, you’ll never go wrong.

ALSO: Check the website for Tee Times - first posting will be Thursday evening, but things could change with any late minute cancellations. SO — check the website again the morning of the tournament. Thanks!

New Members Tournament - RESULTS

First official tournament is in the books!

Congratulations to team Ng - Nishimura - Thorburn - White (new member).

Some sleek shootin’ from Ken Thorburn (net 64) capped off a good display from all team members.

Honey pot results follow the team results. Notice a number of guys would have been in the money, but didn’t contribute to the pot before the tournament began. Maybe next time, guys??

Next up: Kelbert Qualifying tournament, May 11th (in the books), and May 16th/17th. Remember to sign up early for the tournaments you want to play. We’re getting excellent participation, and waiting lists for all days.
